![]() ![]() Rather than trying to reinvent the shape of a single bowl of flame mounted on a column, the team looked for an idea that would relate more directly to the phenomenon of the countries in the world gathering together in pursuit of sporting achievement and not squabbling with each other. The studio was invited by the organizing committee of the London 2 012 Olympic Games and Danny Boyle, creative director of the opening ceremony, to design the vessel for the fire that burns throughout the games, which is known as the Olympic cauldron.
